台州位于浙江省沿海中部，山奇水秀，人杰地灵，历史悠久，文明昌盛。新石器时代就诞生下汤人类文明。1999年，经国务院批准成为浙江省城市化格局中的大城市和一级经济亚区中心。2005年，成为长三角区域16个城市之一。     Located to the northeast of Taicang Municipality, on the east bank of the Yangtze River, right opposite Chongming Island and Wusong Mouth, adjacent to State Road 204 and Yanjiang Highway to the west, bordering Changshu Municipality to the north, with Hufuhuang Road and several streams and branches of the Yangtze River running through it which renders communication and transportation by land and water extraordinarily convenient, Fuqiao Town, covering a total area of 144 square km and with its population amounting to 76.5 thousand people in 52 administrative villages, is the centre of Taicang Port authorized and designated by State Environmental Protection Administration of China as the zone specialized in the recycling and processing of imported scrap resources.
